Captures native JavaScript KeyboardEvents (e.code and e.key) directly from the browser window and maintains an active state map. Its controls cover full visual keyboard layout supporting ANSI, ISO, and Tenkeyless boards, n-Key Rollover (NKRO) multi-key simultaneous press detection, detects keydown, keyup, and code events with latency logging, audible key-click feedback option via Web Audio API, and identifies stuck, unresponsive, or double-typing mechanical switches. The tool accepts physical Key Presses. It produces visual Keyboard Layout that can be reviewed before it is saved.

Certain browser-reserved shortcuts (like Ctrl+W or Command+Q) may trigger browser actions rather than UI capture. When Keyboard Tester is marked as in-browser, its work remains on the current device; available memory, processor speed, browser support, permissions, and source quality can still affect the result.
